Be careful what you Like on Facebook

By guest columnist Cleland Thom
A free tip for our criminal readers: it's probably best not to leave clues for federal investigators on Facebook.

Savannah resident Viacheslav Zhukov can tell you the problems.

He’s been charged with mailing rifle scopes to his native Russia. When they were seized, they didn’t quite match his customs declaration: ‘A cardboard box, a model battle tank, and men’s jeans.’

Zhukov is now in custody in his home state of Georgia, awaiting trial for export violations.

If he’d been given bail, he could have deleted the solitary ‘Like’ on his Facebook page – the album Murder Death Kill.

It features somewhat incriminating numbers like: Kill Yourself, People Will Die, and Hostility.

Let’s hope that doesn’t put him in the jury’s gun sights.
