Making sure telemarketers get the message

By guest columnist Cleland Thom
If you’re fed up receiving spam texts and marketing phone calls, there’s a simple solution. Move to Connecticut.

Okay, the Constitution State has its drawbacks. George W Bush was born there. And it suffers the occasional triple murder

But it has tough new telemarketing laws.

It’s banned sending commercial text and media messages, and making “robocalls”.

Anyone who spams without getting the consumer’s consent risks a $20,000 fine per call. The tough rules are on top of existing federal laws.

That should make sure those "How are you today?" callers get the message.
